SPONSORSHIP:
INTRODUCTION
Is your company looking for an exciting new way to promote your business? Have you been hearing about the explosion of auto racing's popularity and wanted to be a part of it? If so, Grilley Racing is currently evaluating sponsorship options for the upcoming Season.
I am proposing a partnership that could be rewarding for both of our organizations. I compete in the B-Modified class at I-90 Speedway in Hartford, SD. Racing can be an expensive sport and for this reason sponsors are very important. I feel as though I can offer a great deal to a sponsor and would like to share with you some of the advantages of joining Grilley Racing.
I-90 Speedway
Every Saturday night from late April through September, I-90 Speedway draws fans from all over the Tri-State area to watch stock car races. What this means for your company is an increase in exposure to a dedicated audience. I-90 Speedway is a 3/8 mile, high-banked, dirt oval and has a large grandstand area, which gives a good view of the racecars from any seat. In addition, after the races are over for the night, fans are allowed to go into the pit area and meet the drivers. There they can receive handouts, coupons, or cards from the sponsors, and get a good look at the cars. Watching the #41m Modified racing around the track with your company's name displayed on it and talking with me in the pits, fans will not only see your company's name, but also get information from me after the race. Grilley Racing will also include your name and company information on my website. I will display a link to your site and give recommendations for more information about your company.
SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
I want to work with potential sponsors to decide what package is right for you. I can offer deals ranging from full car sponsorship including a custom paint scheme to match your company's colors to a small decal placed on the car.
I have packages to fit any price range that you have for your advertising needs and are open to suggestions for other means of sponsorship which are not listed below.
With an average of 20 regular races scheduled for the season, a sponsorship of $1000 breaks down to only $50 per race night. That is a great deal of publicity each week for a very low price.
I also have a very professional and eye catching web site at www.martygrilley.com. This website is designed by the same webmaster that has designed sites for NASCAR drivers Mike Skinner, Ricky Rudd, Clint Boyer, Jeremy Mayfield and Casey Mears, among others. The Grilley Racing website has interesting pages including a Sponsor's page, Action Pictures, Driver's Bio and more. The sponsor page can be used to give out important information such as name, address, phone numbers, web site link and a company logo. For major sponsorships, the website can be redesigned to better incorporate your company logo and colors. My website also has a direct link from the official I-90 web site and has received increased traffic from our affiliation.
41m Racing at a glance:
1989-1994 Various races and enduro events at Winner Speedway in Winner, SD, Red Devil Speedway in Hartford, SD and Marysville Speedway in Marysville, CA.
1996 6th in season points in the Stock Heavy Go Kart Class at I-90 Speedway in LuVerne, MN.
1997 7th in season points in the Stock Heavy Go Kart Class at I-90 Speedway in LuVerne, MN. Best Crash of the Year award. (Not necessarily a good thing!)
2002 In my first year of limited racing at I-90 Speedway in Hartford, SD I had one heat race win, one B feature win and a best A feature finish of 7th, with an average feature finish of 11th. I also never missed an A feature if we were running at the end of the night.
2003 During the season I was as high as 3rd in points, but a mid season crash totaled the car. After missing 7 nights I was still able to finish a respectable 15th in season points out of 47 drivers listed. I won 3 heat races, 2 "B" features and finishes as high as 3rd in the "A" features. I also raced one night at Huset's Speedway and finished 11th in the "A".
2004 I was able to win 2 heat races and 1 "B" feature and finish as high as 2nd in an "A" feature. I also ran one race at Huset's speedway and came home with a 7th place finish in the "A".
2005 In a season filled with bad luck, I managed one heat race win and a best "A" feature finish of 6th.
2006 This year turned a corner for me. Although I only ran a limited schedule, I won 2 heat races and had an “A” feature best of 4th. With the exception of 2 races where I had a DNF, I finished 8th or better in every “A” feature.
2007 Even though I was not able to compete every week, I was still able to grab two 2nd place finishes in the A main and never finished lower than 9th if I was still on the track at the end of the A feature.
2008 With an average finish of about 5th, I put together 5 top 5’s, and 11 top 10’s out of 14 nights of racing, coming home with a 3rd place points trophy.
2009 Competing in a total of 24 races at 3 different tracks over the coarse of the season, we were able to put together 2 feature wins, several heat race wins and a 4th place points finish at I-90 Speedway. Included in the season were 10 top 5 finishes and 17 top 10's.
Overall
Through an increase in publicity and subsequent word-of-mouth exposure, your company stands to gain more business in a partnership with 41m Racing. The car and driver would also be available for display at special events or business promotions where you may want to raise product awareness. There is more information I could provide for you in regards to the car, driver, and I-90 Speedway, but for the sake of brevity I have tried to keep this relatively short. Please review your advertising ideas and consider this opportunity. I look forward to hearing from you and working with you.
Sincerely,
Marty Grilley
