RACE DIARY ENTRY: 07/03/04
By Marty "Crash" Grilley
Once again, I appologize for sucking at updating this diary. At this point, I don't remember again exactly what happened during the night except for the fact that I had to run the B feature again and the track was so incredibly rough that it was almost impossible to pass anyone. I don't know what the officials were thinking that night because during hot laps the track was smooth and fast. After the hot laps, for some reason, they apparently graded the track or something and by the B features, it was all you could do just to hang on to the steering wheel! I have never been beaten up so badly by a track than I was that night. In the closing laps was spun by the number 0g of Randy Haberer and rolled my right rear tire off the bead (flat tire). Since I am the only one in my pit crew, it makes it very difficult to change a tire myself, so I just pulled the car into the pits and called it a night. The way the track was, there was no passing anyway, so I just decided to park it for the night. By the way, I melted another plug wire!!!
